Restaurant choices by Lonely Planet

“Welcome to Klaipėda! The third largest city in Lithuania, where present and past collide, invites you. Klaipėda – the past capital of Prussia – has preserved in its architecture the hint of the great Prussia, as well as the fragments of the castle, which dates back to the times of the Teutonic Order. Also, it is the only city in Lithuania which welcomes the ships that are the size of the legendary Titanic.” That is what the biggest publisher of travel guides ‘Lonely Planet’ writes in its website. There one can also find a list of best restaurant recommended to visit in Klaipėda by Lonely Planet. Check it!

Top Choice - Momo Grill

This tiny, modern, minimalist steakhouse is foodie heaven and the hardest table to book in town. The small menu consists of just three cuts of beef plus grilled fish and leg of duck, and allows the chef to focus on what he does best. The austere interior of white tiles is soothing and the wine list is excellent.

International in Klaipėda - Friedricho Pasažas

Lining this snug carriageway on the southern side of the Old Town you'll find Friedricho Pasazas – not just one restaurant, but a whole complex of them. Friedricho Restoranas, the main show, is top of the pile, with creative Mediterranean dishes and wine to match. Following closely behind, there's a pizzeria, a steakhouse and a Lithuanian tavern.

Chinese in Klaipėda -  Jing Bin Lou

There aren't too many alternatives to Lithuanian and Italian in Old Town Klaipėda, but Jing Bin Lou does decent Westernised Chinese. It even takes a stab at a few dishes from Sichuan and Xinjiang.

Pub food in Klaipėda - Meat Lovers

Should you find yourself peckish while waiting for the ferry to Smiltynė (and provided you're not vegetarian), Meat Lovers has you covered. Perched above the terminal building, it can whip up a burger and beer in no time, served with a view of the upper Curonian Lagoon.

Lithuanian in Klaipėda- Senoji Hansa

This combination bar, restaurant and cafe overlooking Teatro aikštė is popular for its meat dishes, pancakes and cepelinai. The covered terrace is open year-round and draws a fun crowd on weekend evenings.

European in Klaipėda – Meridianas

The Meridianas – a barquentine built by Finland for the USSR as part of imposed war reparations – has been restored to the glory befitting this icon of Klaipėda, and is now a floating restaurant moored in a prominent position on the Danė. Aboard, it's all gleaming fittings, starched tablecloths, wagyu, foie gras, scallops and fine wine.

Belgian in Klaipėda - Rene

A smart, kooky place serving cuisine à la bière: mussels, beef and others dishes cooked in (primarily Belgian) beer.
